Robert Lunney
Bob Lunney is a consultant on police and public safety, most lately
associated with the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF) in Washington.
A distinguished policing professional, Bob's career spanned over
forty-four years Canadian policing. After retiring from the Royal
Canadian Mounted Police at the rank of Superintendent, he served
as Chief of Police for the City of Edmonton for twelve years, three
years as Commissioner of Protection, Parks and Culture at Winnipeg,
and seven years as Chief for Peel Regional Police, Ontario. He is
a Past President of the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police
(CACP).
Bob's recent assignments include a problem-oriented policing project
in Boston, a Policing with the Community project for the US Department
of Justice in Florida and several organisational problem solving
projects with police departments. His international experience includes
programmes for the Hong Kong Police Force, the Israeli National
Police and the Palestinian Authority Police.
An acknowledged expert in change management, Bob has extensive
experience in policing with the community, problem oriented policing,
police performance measurement, human resource management, and policing
diverse communities.
With his vast experience, Bob will bring considerable expertise
to the Oversight team and will have key responsibilities in the
areas of policing with the community, management and personnel,
organisational structure, information technology and culture, ethos
and symbols.
